Hey, I'm Kelli!

Socialize

It’s 2026, and if you’re a business owner, you’ve probably heard it a hundred times by now: you need video.

And honestly? You do. But before you close this tab because the idea of scripting, filming, and editing feels like a whole other job…hear me out. Because video probably doesn’t have to look the way you’re imagining!

I’ve been in the video space for years (ever since video wasn’t as common and there weren’t many women educating on it!). I stepped into the video realm early because I genuinely believed in what video could do for business owners, and that hasn’t changed (if anything, it’s only grown!).

What has changed is how accessible it’s become and how simple it can actually be.

So if you’ve been wondering whether video is really necessary for your business, what it would even look like for you, or whether you’re already too far behind to start, this post is for you.

Let’s talk about what video can actually do for your business in 2026, and what it doesn’t have to be.

Video Builds Trust Faster Than Anything Else

I have to start here, because this is the thing I come back to over and over again.

Great photos and the right words on your website matter. But video adds another layer!

Think about it this way: when you’re scrolling and you come across a photo, you get an impression. When you come across a video (someone talking, moving, showing you something), it feels different. It’s more real and human. You get a sense of their energy, their personality, and their presence in a way that a single image can’t deliver.

That’s what video does for your brand! Before someone ever fills out a contact form or sends you a message, they can already feel like they know you. They’ve heard your voice or seen you in action. It builds trust fast!

That’s why I’m such a strong advocate for it, not because it’s trendy, but because it works.

Video is More Versatile Than You Think

One big misconceptions I’ve heard lately is that video means committing to one platform or one format—like you have to become a full-time content creator or YouTuber.

But a single video clip can go so many places!

The same short b-roll clip of you working with a client can become a Reel, show up in your Instagram Stories a week later, get added to your website homepage, or be repurposed into a Facebook ad.

The versatility is one of my favorite things about short-form video content. It’s not one-and-done, but it’s something you can reuse as your marketing evolves. And for business owners who are already stretched thin, this repurposing feature can be huge.

Simple Social Video Clips Are Enough (And They Work!)

Here’s where I want to be honest with you: for most small business owners, you don’t need a full production video shoot to make an impact with video. (Though I do offer that, and for certain businesses and goals, it’s absolutely the right move.)

What I find resonates most and what I love creating with clients are simple, short social video clips. This means real moments, a b-roll of you in your element, or quick behind-the-scenes footage. These are clips that capture you naturally doing what you do!

In my Content Refresh Sessions, every client walks away with brand images and 10 social video clips (that are short and ready to use!).

And a big reminder especially right now in 2026 is that what’s performing well online right now isn’t the highly produced stuff. It’s the human stuff. Think: simple clips that feel authentic and real.

You don’t need to be a YouTuber or a content creator. You just need someone to capture you in what you’re already doing!

Video Shows the Real You And That’s What People Want to See

At the end of the day, this is what it comes back to.

People want to connect with the human behind the business. They want to see you! While we might overlook it, these are the things people are curious about: the behind-the-scenes moments, you in action with a client, a quick thought you shared after a call, or even a peek into what your work actually looks like.

These are the moments that make someone feel like they know you. And that trust is what makes them more likely to inquire.

Ready to Add Video to Your Brand?

If you’ve been putting video off because it felt too complicated, I hope this helps reframe it a little.

Video doesn’t have to be a big production. It can be simple clips that give people a real look at your brand and business. And when those clips are ready to go and easy to use, showing up online starts to feel a lot more doable!

My Content Refresh Sessions include social video clips, alongside of updated brands images. If you’re curious about what that could look like for your business, connect with me here!
