Hey, I'm Kelli!

I didn’t expect a Disney cruise to spark ideas for my business. In fact, I intentionally left my laptop at home. But even while I was soaking up the sun with my family, my business brain kept nudging me with the same thought over and over: Disney is the world’s best brand storyteller. And there’s so much every business owner can learn from them!

From their attention to detail to the way they make you feel, Disney knows how to create an experience people can’t stop talking about. And that’s exactly what a strong, memorable brand does.

So today, I’m breaking down a few lessons I saw firsthand and how these same ideas can help you build a memorable brand your clients instantly recognize, trust, and remember.

Lesson 1: Details Are Everything

Disney doesn’t skip details. They don’t “get the main parts right” and forget the rest. They commit, fully.

From the design of rides and themed restaurants to the carpet pattern in your hallway and the music softly playing as you walk to your room, everything works together to make you feel immersed in a story.

On our cruise, our entire floor was Princess and the Frog themed: the wall art, the colors, even the hallway music. It made the space feel intentional and magical, even when you weren’t inside an attraction.

What this teaches us: A recognizable brand is built through consistency, not just your logo or your colors, in everything. Your website, your visuals, your tone of voice, the way clients feel when they step into your space… these small details add up. When your brand feels cohesive, it becomes memorable.

Lesson 2: Storytelling Isn’t Optional. It’s the Experience

If there’s one thing Disney does better than anyone, it’s tell a story that makes you feel something. For me, Disney brings up nostalgia, joy, and a sense of childlike wonder. For my kids, it’s magic. And for many parents, it’s the experience of watching their children light up.

That’s the power of storytelling! You’re not giving information; you’re creating emotion.

And the same is true in your business. Your brand isn’t just your product or service. It’s the story you tell about who you are, why you do what you do, and how you make people’s lives better. Great stories build connection. Connection builds trust. Trust builds loyalty.

Photos and videos are also how you can bring that story to life: the visuals that allow people to see your personality, feel your energy, and understand your business before they ever meet you.

Lesson 3: Exceptional Customer Service Builds Brand Loyalty

One thing I noticed on the ship: every single cast member went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of. They were kind, friendly, and genuinely wanted us to have a great experience, even when problems came up. Not because the rules didn’t matter. Not because they bent every request. But because they focused on making people feel supported, safe, and valued.

As someone who comes from a long line of entrepreneurs, high-quality customer service is something I take very seriously. It’s one of the biggest reasons people come back, not just to Disney, but to small businesses like yours and mine.

When your clients feel cared for, they stay. And then they tell other people about you! That’s brand loyalty. And it’s built with real human connection.

Lesson 4: First Impressions Matter (More Than You Think)

From the moment you board a ship or step into a park, Disney makes sure your first impression is a positive one: friendly cast members, a smooth check-in experience, a “wow” moment the second you enter (think: walking onto Main Street and seeing the castle).

They know that how someone first experiences a brand shapes everything that follows. For your business, your first impression is usually your:

  • Website
  • Instagram feed
  • Email welcome sequence
  • Brand photos and videos
  • Inquiry experience

These are the moments where someone decides if they trust you, if they feel connected to you, and if they want to move closer. Strong visuals and clear messaging create a strong first impression.

Lesson 5: Immersion Builds Recognition

Disney doesn’t just tell you their brand. They put you in it. Every hallway, sound, color, character, and experience reinforces who they are. It’s why people talk about Disney constantly, why they return year after year, and why it’s always busy, no matter the season.

Your brand doesn’t need a castle or fireworks. But it does need consistency:

  • consistent visuals
  • consistent tone
  • consistent storytelling
  • consistent experience

This is what makes your brand recognizable and is what makes people remember you!

Bringing It Back to Your Business

If you want to build a memorable brand in 2026, here’s what Disney reminds us:

  • Make the details intentional
  • Tell a story people can emotionally connect to
  • Deliver exceptional service
  • Create a strong first impression
  • Stay consistent across your brand

When you do these things, people start talking. They start sharing, they start trusting you, and they keep coming back!

If you want your brand visuals (your photos, videos, and online presence) to create that same unforgettable experience, let’s create something your clients can’t stop talking about.
