As I look back on 2025, I’m walking away with so much gratitude: for my clients, for the work I get to do every day as an Indianapolis brand photographer, and for the personal growth that shaped this past year. It was full, stretching, creative, and meaningful in ways I didn’t expect. And as a brand photographer who loves supporting small businesses, I’m grateful for every opportunity to help a business tell its story with photos and video.
This year brought its fair share of pivots, new directions, and lessons learned, but it also brought clarity about the kind of work that lights me up. Before stepping into a new year, I wanted to reflect on what made this one special.
The Work: A Year Filled With Indianapolis Brand Sessions
2025 was all about brands. As an Indianapolis brand photographer, I photographed a wide range of business owners across Indianapolis and the Midwest: from brand new entrepreneurs to established businesses refreshing their visuals. Some sessions were photo-only, others were full hybrid photo and video shoots, and some jumped into the content creation and social media space, each project stretched me creatively in the best ways!
It’s nearly impossible to choose favorites! Every session had something unique to celebrate. What stood out most was watching business owners invest in themselves. I’m always reminded of how powerful brand photography can be in helping people feel confident about how they show up online.
There was also a milestone project early in the year: my biggest brand project to date – a fully remote, creative direction and editing project with a tech company. I can’t share much yet, but it pushed me creatively and allowed me to step deeper into the world of creative direction. More on that someday, but it definitely marked a major moment for my business.
Personal Wins That Made This Year Lighter
This was also a big year personally. It was my last year in my 30s, and I’m ending it feeling lighter and stronger: physically, mentally, and emotionally. I got in better shape, managed stress more intentionally, and truly cared for myself in new ways.
One of the biggest shifts was going alcohol-free. I quietly made the decision a year ago, and it ended up changing everything. More clarity, better energy, deeper confidence… the ripple effects showed up not just in my life, but in my business too. It wasn’t a dramatic overnight change, and it wasn’t always easy, just the kind of steady transformation that happens when you finally stop carrying things that weren’t serving you.
I also learned to stop trying to be the version of myself I thought I needed to be. Instead, I leaned into being the person I actually am: and my creativity, confidence, and connection with my clients feel stronger because of it.
Shifting Away From Family Sessions
This year also clarified a big direction for my work. I’ve loved photographing families over the years and will still do occasional sessions for past clients and schools, but brand photography and brand video are where my focus is headed. This is the work that lights me up: the storytelling, the strategy, the creative direction, the connection. It feels good to lean into it wholeheartedly.
You’ll see less promotion for family sessions in the future, and much more content around brand visuals, content marketing, and video work. It feels exciting, and I can’t wait for what this next chapter brings.
Gratitude for the Businesses Who Chose Me
Every client who trusted me with their brand this year is a huge part of why 2025 felt special. From small business owners launching new ideas to seasoned entrepreneurs investing in a refreshed identity, I’m so grateful. I love watching your businesses grow and expand, and I love knowing your visuals play a small role in that story.
Thank you for making this year meaningful and memorable!
What’s Ahead in the New Year for Kelli White Photography
I’m heading into the new year feeling inspired and ready. More video work is coming, along with dedicated content days to create for my own brand. I’ve been dreaming up new ideas, exploring new tools and equipment, along with refining the way I help businesses look and feel confident online. And of course, more brand and video sessions… a favorite part of the job!
Whether you’ve followed along for years or just recently joined this corner of the internet, I’m so glad you’re here. Thank you for supporting my work, cheering on my business, and trusting me with your stories.
I can’t wait to keep creating together in the year ahead!
