Getting your brand photos (and videos!) back is exciting. You open your gallery and suddenly you have 30+ beautiful images that feel like you. Confident. Polished. Elevated.
And then comes the very real question: now what do I actually do with all of these?
If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed after receiving your brand gallery, you’re not alone. Getting everything at once can feel like a lot, but it’s also one of the best opportunities to intentionally update your business visuals in a way that actually supports your growth.
This post walks through the exact tips I share with my Indianapolis brand photography and videography clients after their sessions so you can start using your photos and video clips with ease!
Pick Your Favorites First
Before you upload anything anywhere, take time to actually sit with your gallery. Scroll through slowly. Notice how the images make you feel. Ideally, confident, aligned, and excited about the direction of your business!
Most people naturally gravitate toward a handful of images that feel the most “them.” Those are your starting point.
Pro tip: jot down the image numbers that best reflect your personality, your brand vibe, and the services you want to be known for. Those favorites will be the easiest and most natural to use first.
Think About the Platforms You Already Have
Instead of asking where you should use your photos, start with where your business already lives. Make a quick list of places like your website, Instagram or other social platforms, your email newsletter, client guides or PDFs, and any marketing graphics you use.
You don’t need to use your images everywhere at once. This step simply helps you see the opportunities that are already available to you.
Start With Updating Your Most-Used Social Platform
For many businesses, this is Instagram. Two simple but impactful places to start are updating your profile photo and sharing a new feed post using one of your favorite images or video clips.
Your profile image is often the first impression someone has of you. Updating it occasionally keeps your brand feeling current, and using a photo of yourself rather than a logo helps people connect with you faster.
If you want to create a new feed post and need help writing a simple intro-style caption, you can use this ChatGPT prompt:
Write a warm, professional Instagram caption introducing me and my business. My business is [describe your business]. My audience is [who you serve]. My brand voice is [friendly, confident, calm, bold]. Include a short personal touch and a welcoming tone.
Pair this caption with one of your favorite brand photos and keep it simple!
Update Key Pages on Your Website with Fresh Photos
Fresh brand photos and videos can completely change how your website feels, and this is often why business owners invest in a brand session in the first place.
Start by looking at a few high-impact areas:
- Homepage header: a great place for a standout image or video that instantly shows your personality and what you do.
- About page: should include updated photos that reflect this season of your business.
- Services page: a great place to use detail shots, flat lays, or prop images that visually support what you offer.
You can also refresh any other high-traffic pages that may still be using older or placeholder images. Your website should visually match where your business is now, not where it was years ago.
Other Ways to Use Your New Brand Images
There are also a few ways to use your new brand photography images that business owners don’t always think about. You can:
- add a photo to the end of your email newsletter
- use a brand image as a Reel cover to keep your Instagram feed cohesive
- place photos behind text in Canva graphics
- refresh client-facing PDFs, guides, or proposals.
Small updates still make a big impact.
Put Your Brand Gallery Into Action
While this may seem like a lot of steps, remember that you don’t need to do everything in one day or even one month. Start where your business is most active and visible, then let the rest unfold naturally as you create, update, and grow.
Below are a few examples of how my clients have put their brand images to use after their sessions! This is proof that your gallery is meant to support you, not sit untouched.
