A true brand refresh is about what those visuals do for your business!
Over the years, I’ve seen firsthand how updated brand imagery can shift the way a business shows up online. Clients start feeling more confident, their websites feel more aligned with the services they offer, and their social media begins to connect with the people they actually want to work with.
Sometimes it even leads to more inquiries and bookings simply because the brand finally reflects the level of service they provide.
That’s exactly what happened with Kate Marciniec and the team at Solid Wellness Westfield. As they moved into a new building here in downtown Westfield, they took time to refresh their brand visuals. It has been wonderful to see their business grow and all of the ways they have utilized their new content.
We worked together in a local Indianapolis brand photography session last year and the results from getting their visuals updated have been incredible. I wanted to share a little behind the scenes look at what that process looked like!
What a Brand Refresh Looks Like in Real Life
When most people hear the phrase “brand refresh,” they often think it just means getting new photos.
But the process is much more than that!
Before every brand session, I spend time getting to know my clients and their businesses so we can create images that really reflect what they do and who they help.
That usually includes things like:
- a questionnaire about their business and marketing goals
- a planning call to talk through ideas and locations
- discussing how and where the images will be used
- identifying the parts of their work we want to visually capture
Sometimes a client wants updated visuals for a brand-new website, sometimes they’re preparing to launch a new service, or other times they just realize their current images no longer represent the business they’ve grown into.
Every session is designed to capture their story in a way that feels authentic to them and their brand!
And that’s exactly what we focused on with Solid Wellness Westfield.
Where Solid Wellness Westfield Was Before the Session
Solid Wellness Westfield came to me because they were in the process of updating their website and also moving to a brand new location in Indiana. They wanted fresh content with their new team in a beautiful new space. They also wanted video content to tell the story behind their brand.
When I first looked at their brand presence online, I noticed they had some customized visual content, but they had grown their team and had a more well-defined brand with their new office. I was excited to see everything work cohesively for them.
During our pre-session planning call, we talked through things like:
- how they currently market their business
- what type of clients they wanted to attract
- where the images would be used most
These conversations help shape the session so that the final gallery supports the client’s marketing and brand goals.
What the Indianapolis Brand Session Included
For their session, we focused on creating both images and video clips that they could use across their website, social media, and marketing materials.
We started the session inside at Solid Wellness Westfield, where we captured some traditional headshots and team photos, along with some client interactions and demonstrations. We also captured the Solid Wellness team at work in a conference meeting, and then we went outside to include the beautiful exterior of their brand new building!
We ended the session with some video voiceover, and it was so fun to see it all come together in the editing process.
Throughout the session, we captured a variety of images that reflected their day-to-day work and their business, including:
- updated professional headshots
- behind-the-scenes moments
- lifestyle brand images
- video clips for social media and web
The goal is always to create a gallery that gives my clients a variety of visuals they can use in different ways throughout their marketing.
The Ripple Effect of Updated Brand Visuals
After the session, I delivered their gallery along with guidance on how they could start using the images and video clips in their marketing.
From there, they have used them for website, social, email marketing, printed materials, client guides and more!
And the results from doing that have been so cool to watch. I recently visited the Solid Wellness office for my own wellness refresh, and the team shared how busy they have been in the new location and how fun it has been to utilize their new refreshed branded content.
This is something I see often with brand sessions! When your visuals finally reflect the quality and personality of your business, it becomes much easier to show up online and connect with the right clients.
