Getting Started with AI
It started coming up between setups. A client would be changing into her third look of the day and ask, half-joking, whether she was supposed to be using AI yet. Then another one asked. Then another.
The funny part is that by the time those conversations started, AI had already been helping me behind the scenes for a few years. I started poking at ChatGPT in late 2022, out of curiosity more than strategy. I work in the pockets of time between school, kid activities, and making dinner, and anything that turned a two-hour task into a twenty-minute one earned a permanent spot in my week! So it stayed on my team. It drafted. organized, and got me started on the days I was stuck staring at a blank document. While everyone else was debating whether AI was a fad, it had been quietly helping me run a business inside a real life.
Early this year, the interest turned into actual work. An online education company here in Carmel had years of long-form video lessons and no realistic way to turn them into short social clips. We built a workflow together. Clip creation that used to take an hour came down to about fifteen minutes.
I drove home from the second training session thinking about how much I liked that. Not the tech part. The part where somebody got hours of her week back and could see it happening.
Two businesses, or one?
For a while I wondered if I should build another businesses. The camera one and the AI one.
They were the same one. My work has already been shifting, from making the photos and the video to helping with the strategy, planning and process behind them. I just hadn’t said it out loud yet. Because content only helps a business if it gets used, and getting them used was never a quality problem, it was a time and planning problem. A “I have forty-seven photos sitting in a Dropbox folder and no idea what to post on Tuesday” problem.
That’s the part AI is good at. Not the pretty part. The planning, the writing, the systems that decide whether you show up consistently or only during the weeks that happen to go well.
What business owners actually told me
The people asking me questions weren’t ignoring AI because they didn’t care. They told me it felt intimidating. One more thing to learn, in a schedule that already had no room for one more thing. A few of them had tried it, gotten something generic back, and decided it wasn’t for them.
They didn’t want a course or a hype video about the future of work. They wanted somebody who understood their actual business to sit down and say: here, specifically, is where this saves you time in your week. Start with that one.
So I built something. I put it together this summer, in pockets of time, an hour here and there, around two girls and a full house. Which felt about right. A service about fitting AI into a real schedule, probably should be built inside one!
The AI Audit
It’s called the AI Audit, and it’s officially open!
You fill out a short intake about your business and how your weeks actually run. I dig in and record a custom walkthrough of exactly where AI can save you time, plus a written action plan and a starter prompt kit with the prompts already written for your business. No call to schedule. No course to finish. The recording is yours to keep and rewatch whenever you need it, and I’m available for two weeks after for questions. Turnaround is seven business days!
Most AI audits on the market are built for companies with data teams and budgets to match. This one is built for the real people running their small business between real life, who wants the time back without the overwhelm.
If AI has felt like one more thing you’re behind on, you’re exactly who I made this for! You don’t need to become an AI person. You need about three things that actually work in your business, and somebody to tell you where to start!

Not ready to dive into the AI Audit? Grab my free checklist!
Right now, only 1–2% of local businesses ever get recommended by AI. Here’s the checklist to help you become one of them! Picture someone searching for a business like yours, except instead of Googling it, they ask ChatGPT. That’s how people are finding businesses now, and most owners have no idea whether they’re even in the running?
The good news: getting recommended comes down to a handful of things, many of which, you actually control! Grab your checklist to get started and if you have any AI Audit questions, please reach out.
