A new quarter is always a good moment to pause and ask yourself one simple question:
Is my content actually ready for where my business is headed?
When it comes to marketing your business, whether that’s your website, social media, email list, or blog, the goal isn’t just to post regularly. It’s to show up in a way that reflects your brand clearly and connects with the clients you want to attract!
That means having both strong visuals and thoughtful content working together.
As we head into the next quarter, I want to share a simple checklist for AI content planning for your business so you can evaluate where your marketing currently stands and where you want it to go next.
Step 1: Start With a Content Audit
Before making changes, take a little time to look at what has already been working.
An audit simply means stepping back and evaluating what’s currently happening in your marketing.
Ask yourself a few questions like:
- What worked well in the first part of the year?
- What types of content performed best last year?
- Where did most of my clients find me?
- What content did I actually enjoy creating?
You can also look at the basics of your online presence.
- Does your social media bio clearly explain what you do?
- Do the images on your website still reflect your brand?
- Are your visuals current and aligned with where your business is going?
This step matters more than most people realize. If you don’t know what’s working (or what isn’t), it’s very hard to make intentional changes!
AI Tip: Ask it to act as a brand and marketing strategist and give you an evaluation on what’s currently working in your content. Take it with a grain of salt, but sometimes an outside perspective is helpful!
Step 2: Look at Your Current Marketing Process
Once you’ve taken a look at your content, the next step is to think about how you’re currently creating it.
What does your content workflow actually look like?
Maybe you’re writing Instagram captions, sending emails, updating your blog, or posting videos online. Maybe you’re doing all of those things.
Ask yourself:
- What parts of my marketing feel easy right now?
- What parts feel time-consuming or overwhelming?
- Where do I tend to get stuck?
This is where AI can start to play a helpful role!
AI tools can assist with things like:
- brainstorming content ideas
- repurposing blog posts into social media captions
- drafting simple marketing copy
- helping organize your content plan
The goal isn’t to fully replace you or your creativity. It’s to simplify the parts of content creation that take the most time. Evaluate where you can start adding AI in to help!
Step 3: Clarify Your Goals for the Next Quarter
Now that you’ve reviewed what’s working and looked at your current process, the next step is to think about where you want your business to go!
What are your marketing goals for the next few months?
Maybe you want to:
- book more clients
- grow your email list
- show up more consistently on social media
- launch something new
- expand to another content platform
Get clear on what’s important to you so you know what to focus on the most.
Step 4: Create a Content Plan That Feels Sustainable
Once you’re clear on your goals, you can start creating a content plan that supports them. This is another place where AI can help!
You can give an AI tool context about your business, your goals for the quarter, and the types of content that have worked well for you in the past (see steps 1-3!). From there, it can help generate content ideas or outline a simple plan you can build from.
Instead of trying to show up everywhere online, focus on the platforms and types of content that make the most sense for your business. Use the above AI prompt to help you start forming a realistic plan to follow.
Also start by asking yourself:
• Which platforms actually bring in clients?
• What type of content do I enjoy creating?
• Do I have visuals that support my marketing right now?
Those answers will also influence your focus for this quarter (and beyond). Strong visuals make this process significantly easier. When you have brand photos and video clips ready to go, creating content becomes much simpler because you’re not constantly searching for images to use.
Small updates like this (reviewing what’s working, refining your process, and using tools like AI intentionally) can make a big difference in how confidently you show up online throughout the quarter.
Showing Up Online With Intention
One thing I’ve been focusing on in my own business lately is consistency in the places that matter most (to me).
For me, that looks like continuing to share through my blog and email list, showing up on social media when it makes sense, and connecting with people in person.
That approach came from taking time to evaluate what has worked best for my business and where I want to focus my energy moving forward.
Your plan may look different, and that’s okay! The important thing is creating a system that allows you to show up in your marketing with confidence.
